the right Tablecloths

We usually do not need any motivation other than necessity or hunger to eat. However, it does make mealtime a more enjoyable experience to hold it at an attractively set table. Fine china, shiny cutlery, and gleaming glasses are all key to the setting, but the thing that holds all these elements together is the tablecloth upon which they rest. It is best to get center patterned tablecloths so you can have a guide with regards to spacing. With these, you can make the arrangement more symmetrical.

The material of your tablecloth is also important. If you have those elegantly woven tablecloths made of jacquard or Kashmir, your dinnerware will look expensive too. The rest of your setting may not be signature, but nobody will be the wiser. Your tablecloth can also be used to reflect the seasons or the holidays. It can bring a note of festivity, formality, or whatever it is that the occasion requires.

Tablecloths also effectively hide flawed table surfaces. Even better, you can make a normally unsuitable table presentable just by covering it with a charming material. Case in point would be those inexpensive folding tables caterers use. Nobody can tell what the tables really look like under those floor length coverings. With the proper tablecloth, your can make your dining experience always elegant.

find the good Panels and Throws

A couch is a very utilitarian piece of furniture, but in home décor, it is usually an important focal point in the living room. It is typically difficult to keep something so frequently used well maintained and looking elegant, hence the practical option to go for plain and dark choices. Unless you intentionally have a minimalist look going on, a plain and neutrally dark couch might look drab or simply throw off the entire room’s style. If you want to go with the practical choice and still keep your couch looking attractive, you can use throws as an accent on it. Doing this can do wonders for the general tone of your sitting area. Draping a throw of an elegant material and pattern on the backrest of your couch suggests casual sophistication. It will also come in handy on those cold nights. You can pull it off the backrest, ensconce yourself inside, and feel cozier. If you have trouble keeping the throw stylishly draped on your couch, you can go for couch panels that come with an attaché-fix to keep them from sliding off. In fact, panels are not only decorative, they are also protective. They can even act as a marker for the number of people a couch can seat.  Using panels and throws is undoubtedly very convenient. Your couch may be relatively permanent but you can change your throws and panels to suit the season or simply your whim.

The “Blinds” solutions

For those with modern sensibilities, the option to go with blinds for window treatments is very popular. While curtains offer traditional loveliness, blinds bring a sleeker, more streamlined look to the room. For starters, blinds are very flexible when it comes to controlling the amount of sunlight you want to allow inside the room. Blinds can actually filter light until the point of total blackout. The same is true when it comes to privacy. With a simple twist of the wand, you can go from being in full view to totally hidden.

Once upon a time, blinds were too austere for the home and were mostly used in offices. Nowadays, with the options we have, blinds can be suitable for any room and decorative style. Blinds come in various colors, styles and sizes. They can be made of different materials such as fabric, aluminum, wood, plastic, etc. Roman and roller blinds are usually made of fabric or some other pliant material while Venetian and vertical blinds tend to be made of faux wood or plastic. While the blinds of old were meant to be inconspicuous, they can now also function decoratively. They can also be used in conjunction with curtains. Whatever your intended look may be, blinds will still deliver their practical purpose. That they enhance the beauty of the room is just icing on the cake.

Sheers way of life

There is something very romantic about sheer curtains. This is probably brought about by its ability to offer a vague glimpse of whatever is behind it, like the bride’s face hidden by a veil. That certainly adds a flavor of mystery and seduction to the ambience. You can add a simple canopy of a sheer material above your bed and find the atmosphere of your bedroom completely transformed. Despite the dramatic element it can provide, sheers have a way of making things look cool, clean, and crisp at the same time.

Sheers are not all about drama though. Sheer drapery is practical for its ability to mute harsh sunlight without totally blocking it. You can still enjoy the brightness of the day without it glaring at you. It also offers privacy to the people indoors while allowing them to see outside. Sheers used to come in simple shades of white and cream, but nowadays they come in bolder colors and in print. You can use them on their own or partner them with a heavier material. You can find sheer curtains that are ready-to-install with grommets, straps, and fixes. You can also find them with pretty embellishments, like tassels and ribbons. You definitely have the option to be more elaborate in choosing to install sheer drapery.

Curtains …forever

They may seem like mere background elements, but curtains have a way of setting the tone and atmosphere of a room. Whatever the style or theme of your room may be, there exists the perfect drapery for it. Curtains come in a sea of variety. You have endless choices in styles, fabrics, accessories, rods, etc. The key is in knowing exactly what you want and what the room needs.

For those who tend to adopt the DIY approach, think “prêt-à-poser” or ready-to-install when choosing curtains. It’s the practical choice. It’s as easy as 1-2-3 to install and the result looks professionally done. Curtain technology has certainly come a long way. With grommets, rings, straps, and other types of fixes in place, all you need to do before you hang the rod onto its brackets or anchors is to just slide the curtain right through. You can find ingenious hardware that makes life with curtains easier. For rods that may be too tedious to detach, you can use the anneau-fix, which allows you to hang and remove curtains without having to bring down the rod. For traverse rods, you have something called attache-fix for easier curtain installation. With these nifty innovations, you can create the look you want without fretting over the difficulty of achieving that look.

Keeping Your Pillows Clean

Sleeping for everyone is a favorite hobby and a necessity. Having soft fluffy pillows which will cradle you will make the experience all the more enjoyable. More than fluff however, a very sound and good sleep needs clean comfortable kinds of pillows. Pillows should be cleaned 3 to 4 times a year. So many people just buy new pillow covers forgetting that the pillow itself also needs a rinse to be okay for you. The cleaning depends on the materials used to make your pillows. There are many materials used in making a pillow. We have the cotton or “kapok”, foam, and the duck feather. When choosing home décor you should always pay great attention to your choice of materials.
In cleaning the cotton or “kapok”, you have to remove the filing of the case, loosen it by pulling off the cotton from each other to prevent lumps. You should then put it under the sun for 3-4 hours then wash the case. The pillow covers you buy for your home should therefore be a kind that you will be able to wash. For the foam, soak in cool water in a small amount of bleach; wash it in warm suds by pushing down the pillow then gently squeezing the water or spin down the excess water. Dry it by hanging it at the corner line preferably in sunlight with some air movement. For duck feather, open a few inches of the seam in the opposite corner of the pillow. You can wash it in the washing machine or you can decide to wash it by hand in warm suds for 15-20 minutes. Rinse at least 3 times in clean water. Dry it by using a spinner or simply squeeze out the water from it.

A Good Choice for Home decor

Everyone wants their house to be inviting, warm and homey. We want to make people at ease and have a semi balance of propriety (dining area). Some people change their decor every now and then depending on their mood. Some collect home art pieces like tapestries; carved woods, special candles and porcelains. Others prefer to use accessories that are light, quirky and unpredictable so that they can turn into conversation pieces if they have visitors. Home décor is the only way to go about giving your home that new fresh look even if you have been living there for the last two decades.
Redefining our houses could begin by painting. A good kind of paint and a good choice of color make the home cozy, comfortable and beautiful to live in. Painting our house with appropriate colors, and using curtains suited to the mix and match of the colors makes it more appealing to all. Some use curtains with draperies to add more beauty and elegance to the house. Others use sheer curtains for their corner window and the curtain rods push this even further. Well designed sheers filter the view and glare but let in the daylight you love. If your curtains are wide enough you can use the operative rod that will draw them all the way across the sheers to create an awesome effect of large living space in your sitting room.

Effortless Ways to liven up a Room

Every so often we need to bring a bit of change into our home in order to inspire us and give us that extra push to start our day. We don’t need a large amount of money to do this; small changes like adding throw pillows, curtains and small accessories can have a significant impact if planned properly.
•    You can update your room at no cost, just rearrange your furniture. Also if you want the illusion of more space just pull the furniture away from the walls. Try it!
•    Do you want art on your walls but don’t have the budget for it? You can mount a unique piece of fabric and hang it on your wall.
•    You hate a wall in your apartment but your landlady will not allow you to paint over it? Hang floor- to-ceiling curtains in a bright color or a bold pattern over your wall, this will definitely lift your mood.
•    Are you tired of the dining table center piece? Instead of flowers why don’t you use one type and color of fruit in a modern container? The sleek monochromatic container filled with just one color of fruit like yellow lemons or green apples will create an interesting chic look.
•    You want to showcase family photographs but you still want the space to look ultra classy? Have the photos printed in black and white, then place them in photo frames that match. Hang them in a hallway or a wall for a gallery like mood.
•    Trying to lighten a room that feels heavy? Using sheer curtains will make a room look softer and can lighten the mood because sunlight can stream in and the breeze can enter freely.
•    No money to buy a new sofa? Disguise it! Use slip covers and add throw pillows for splashes of color!
•     Wish you had a garden? Bring plants in doors and breathe some greenery into your home! Make sure you research which plants can thrive indoors.
•    Are you tired of some of your home accessories like photo frames or candle holders and are ready to give it away? Paint them black and give them a new lease on life by making them look edgy and contemporary.
•    If you want the room to look bigger paint the walls with horizontal stripes close tones of one color.  You can make this one of your weekend projects so you’ll only need to buy the some supplies and won’t have to spend too much.
